Just Hanging Out

Future beauty queen?  No toddlers and tiaras for us anytime soon but I know she would win Grand Supreme even without the flippers (the crazy fake teeth the moms make their 2 year olds wear!) hahaha

Just thought this was pretty neat.  Sunset on Memorial Day at the Ohio National Western Reserve cemetery.

Isla loves watching her mobile in her crib.  She looked so darn cute I tried snapping a few photos but she opened her eyes like this every time the camera flashed...I tried about 7 times and each picture looks like this!  What a silly girl.

Joey tilling the garden!  We planted potatoes, onions, beets, corn, brussel sprouts, cucumbers, 4 kinds of tomatoes and peppers...what did I forget??  Oh yes, we also have strawberries, blueberries, grapes, red and golden raspberries, kiwi, a peach tree, plums, apple trees and I think nectarines...Isla will have a ball someday when she gets to go out and pick all the fresh fruits and veggies!

Watching Daddy do his work in the garden.

Yes, it was a little cool and breezy one day but that didn't stop us from having a good time!  Isla, Yia Yia and I still went out on the boat for a picnic.

Who doesn't love a sleeping baby?!  Isla started sleeping in her crib last Thursday and she is doing great.  She celebrated her 12 week birthday Saturday by sleeping 8 1/2 hours!  Woo hoo!!

Snoozing on the boat one day last week.  I think the best naps I ever took were in the cabin on Popsie and Gram's boat!  Fresh air, the hum of the engine and rhythm of the waves...ahhh.

What cuddle muffin.

I took these pictures in our yard last week and couldn't wait to print them so we ran to CVS right when we were done.  Isla was sitting in my lap as I sat at the screen and picked out the photos to print.  About six or so people walked by in the mean time and said how cute/pretty/good she was.  When we checked out the clerk was laughing and said "What a beautiful little girl, it's a shame she doesn't get any attention."  She definitely gets her fair share of compliments.

A Relaxing Sunday Afternoon

Sunday was 85 degrees and beautiful so we decided to spend a relaxing day on the boat.  Isla loves being out on the water...particularly when she's naked!  She was not very happy when she had to get dressed for dinner!
She sure looked cute in this purple little number!

Two Months Old

Our little cutie pie is 2 months old!  She is such a wonderful and pleasant little baby and we love her so so much.  Her latest trick is arching her back when we try to put her in the car seat which makes it pretty challenging!  hahahaha  There's definitely a little bit of an ornery streak in her...thanks to her father ; )

Enjoying Every Moment

We are truly enjoying every moment with our sweet baby girl, Isla.  She is a wonderful baby and is changing so quickly.

This was Isla's first appointment at the doctor on March 22nd.  She needed to be weighed within 48 hours of leaving the hospital because she was under 6 pounds when we were discharged.  She was gaining about 20 grams per day which the doctor was very pleased with!
Isla's next appointment was about a week later and she was back to her birth weight!

Baby Girl is filling the scale out a little better at her 6 week check up, 8 pounds 13 ounces.

This was when Isla was about 5 days old and her jaundice was peeking so we tried to let her get a little sunlight through the windows and she really enjoyed the warmth!

These are Isla's first couple of times in her car seat.  What a sweet little thing.

Crewsie's first time with his new baby cousin and boy was he EXCITED!
Awww...bird legs...her new born clothes were big on her at this point.

I really don't have big hands, she was just that tiny!  She can't even begin to squeeze into that sweet pink onesie now.

Daddy giving her a bottle.  She is mainly breast feeding but we started from the beginning giving her one bottle a day of pumped milk to get her used to both ways of feeding and she does a great job when it comes to eating.
She is 13 days old in the pic with Mommy and Daddy.
She loves comfy clothes like her Mommy and Daddy!
First bath!  She enjoys having her hair washed and brushed and never fusses at bath time.

 Cutest little feet ever.
Isla's first Easter.  Her shirt said, Somebunny loves me and her little pants had a bunny on the butt, too cute.  Thanks, Yia Yia.

So many sweet times to cherish.

Isla is so blessed to have four loving Grandparents.
 Yia Yia
 Popa
 Grammy and Papa

I've never seen Joey laugh so hard in my life.  Isla slept like this for a while in her 'praise Jesus' pose, as he calls it.

First nap in her crib!  She's probably ready to sleep in there at night but Mommy is not ready to give up the bassinet quite yet.

One of my students gave us a set of onesies as a gift with each month labeled on the front.  These pics were taken April 17th.

 What is she thinking???

Love the cheeks!
I know I am biased but it doesn't get any cuter than this!

I always thought it was strange when Joey slept or rested unknowingly with his thumb in between his fingers and now Isla does it!

Our first trip to our camp in PA a couple of weeks ago.  Isla slept nearly the whole time and I relaxed and read a book while Joey cleaned up the property!  We also drove to Franklin while we were there and walked around the historic downtown where they had a garden festival going on.  It was a nice little trip!  Isla's first time out of state.
I love dressing her up in her little summer outfits!  She's really been able to focus recently and follows her toys, mobile and Mommy and Daddy with her eyes.
The tough little thing has been holding her head up since she was born but she's sure gotten strong lately.  This was her first trip on Popa and Yia Yia's pontoon boat at Portage Lakes.  We've been out twice now, once for a pleasure cruise and last Saturday night we went out and stopped for dinner at Dietz's Landing.  Yes, she's losing some hair! Hahahaha

My first Mother's Day!  I'm such a lucky Mommy...I LOVE LOVE LOVE you baby Isla.  Thanks Yia Yia for being such a great Mommy to me.  Thanks to Auntie Britt for always looking out for me like a little mother hen when I was growing up and even now though you're only 2 1/2 years older than me!  I'm so lucky to have you both.

We get lots of smiles from Isla and can even get her to smile now which is very cool!

We are outside every chance we get and love taking walks around the yard and visiting with our neighbors who love to watch Isla grow.

Isla goes everywhere with her Momma.  We've been out shopping several times since she was just a few weeks old.  Many trips to the grocery store, Kohls, Target, Blooming Acres and to Memorial Park with Daddy for our evening walk/run around the lake.

She loves her Baby Einstein play mat and is starting to swat at the dangling rings and even trying to reach them and pull the rings to her mouth.
I love her twinkling eyes.

My how she is changing so quickly.
